Socket Mobile scanner does not work correctly after pairing
Even though the socket scanner may show as paired in bluetooth settings for the Apple iOS device, it may not properly scan in the POS. The scanner may read text and put data into the search bar of the POS, but, will not scan items directly into the cart. The default mode of the scanner is HID mode which treats the bar code scanner as if it was a keyboard entry device. This will not work properly with SuitePOS. The Socket Mobile scanner needs to be put into “Apple iOS Application Mode” before paring is completed in the iOS device bluetooth settings.
- “Forget” the scanner in bluetooth settings.
- Then, refer to the manual for your bar code scanner model to find the bar code or QR code necessary to set the scanner in Apple iOS Application Mode and re-pair the scanner.
