Supported Printers Set Up and Port Names

We support various printers made by Star. These include select Bluetooth printers, 2" and 3" printers, LAN Printers and WIFI Printers.
The SuitePOS app automatically detects Bluetooth printers (and connects to them) based on the port name. As such it is important you have the correct port name.
If a Bluetooth printer is not detected, a LAN/WIFI printer is assumed and as such it will default the port name to the IP address of the printer configured on the POS Terminal record.
Failing to set the correct port name will result in the printer failing to connect or work.
LAN/WIFI Printers
These printers are set up on your LAN/WIFI network by your network administrator. They are allocated an IP address and that address must be on the POS Terminal record.

Service Printers (2nd printers) can only be configured as LAN/WIFI with an IP Address.

Star Apps to Configure Printers
You can configure the printers using various Star Apps available on Apple's app store. Respectively, these include the TSP100III Utility, mC-Print Utility, mPOP Utility and StarPRNT SDK (for all other printers).
Note: For Bluetooth printers, most of these apps drop BT: as the port name for ease of input.
