Tutorial: Time-based Promotions

Requires the purchase of the SuitePOS Advanced Promotions Module

With the Advanced Promotions Module. you can specify start and end dates for whole order or item level promotions. Now you can specify start and end times.  For example, this feature is useful for time-based promotions at specific event sales or for a "happy hour".  This makes things easier for the clerk and removes all guess-work and mistakes.

Time Zone Considerations

The current time is always based off the POS time and not the server (NetSuite/Salesforce) time. For example, if you are on PST and you enter a "Happy Hour" promotion from 5.00pm to 6.00pm in NetSuite, the POS will recognize it as 5.00pm to 6.00pm if located in the PST time zone. It will also recognize it as 5.00pm to 6.00pm if located in the EST time zone.
